Melk Abbey and Dürnstein

Over the weekend I went on an outing with a good friend of mine, and a friend of his.

The Melk Abbey (Stift Melk in German) is an hour away from Vienna.

To read about the background and history of this abbey, here is the official tourism website: http://www.stiftmelk.at/englisch/

After that we headed to Dürnstein, another village half an hour away by car.

Love the Austrian countryside!! It was a really nice spring day on Saturday too, and along the way one could see pear and apricot and peach trees flowering… 🙂
